"In the 1920's my grandfather was in Australia as a structural engineer, where he was designing and building new infrastructure from homes to transport bridges. He moved back to Ireland in 1929 continuing his construction work.

On leaving school I went straight into the family business working for my father who had diversified into plant machinery hire for the construction industry. Eventually in 1980 I started Coulter Homes as my own business and my first development was a small site of six homes in Lisburn.

Over the years we have prided ourselves on supporting suppliers in the local areas where we are building because I never forget that we started as a small family business.

In the last 40 years, now joined by my son Nathan, we have built more than 300 family homes and look forward to continuing the tradition for the next 40.

We still love to look at the old photographs of my grandfather Harry, the man who started it all and inspired me to start building homes.”
