Limerick City & County Council are seeking Expressions of Interest for proposals for Our Lady Queen of Peace Hall and its curtilage, a council-owned site in Limerick city. Preference will be given to community based / voluntary organisations.
The building is located on Roxboro Road, Limerick City see map. The 0.667 Acre site is in the ownership of Limerick City and County Council.
-Our Lady Queen of Peace Hall occupies a prominent site within the Southill Study Area of the Limerick Regeneration Implementation Framework Plan (LRFIP).
-The site adjoins key city and suburban transport routes, retail outlets and educational facilities.
-The building contains a sports hall, changing rooms, toilets, a meeting room and commercial kitchen and with a mezzanine floor overlooking the sports hall. Limited upgrades since construction mean several elements require maintenance or replacement, which proposed refurbishment will address.
-Once the successful applicant is confirmed, an Integrated Design Team is expected to be appointed and statutory approval for the refurbishment works secured, it is envisaged the Works themselves will take 12 months.
-A local kickboxing club is the building`s sole occupant, using the main sports hall, changing rooms, and storage rooms; the remainder is vacant. The club will relocate temporarily during refurbishment and return on completion.
Proposals may include a range of uses, including initiatives that strengthen community engagement and participation.
All Expressions of Interest are on the basis of applicants submitting an application that will be assessed by Limerick City & County Council. Submission of an application does not imply agreement and is subject to contract / contract denied.
An Expression of Interest Application Form can be requested from GVM Auctioneers. The form contains details for submission to Limerick City & County Council. The closing date and time for submissions to be received by Limerick City & County Council is Friday, 6th November 2026 by 5.00pm.
Note: Any disposal/transfer of Council owned land and buildings will be subject to the consent of the elected members of Limerick City and County Council pursuant to the provisions of Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001 as amended.
