There is clearly a lengthy planning history relating to this site.

The first commercial permission being in 1985. Subsequent approvals demonstrate a APPLICATION NUMBER – LA09/2023/0635/F

ACKN continuation of industrial proposals up to 2013. Whilst there are passages of time before some of the earlier permissions, the 2001 outline approval appears to establish the site as a business park. The DOE approved a 2004 application for road works in conjunction with the 2001 permission and shortly after a 2008 permission for light industrial unit tie to the 2004 approval. In 2013 the Department also approved a security hut again linked to the approval of the site as an industrial site. In the absence of any clear evidence to the contrary and considering the planning history of the site, along with works carried out on site it appears that an industrial use is established on the lands associated with this application.

An email of comfort is available from the current Architect confirming;

‘With reference to the Planning for the site, a copy is attached along with the case officer report that was presented to the Planning Committee.

The approval we received was on lands that was part of an originally approved Industrial Park. There were no buildings approved where the new approval has been granted and MUDC Planning were satisfied that the industrial use has been established on the site.

Subject to the necessary application along with standard reports normally required, Planning Permission for the remaining lands for Industrial Use should be considered favourably by MUDC Planning.’
