Windows: All windows in this high spec bungalow are Triple Glazed and are the most recent generation of future proof uPVC windows units. These Argon gas filled Triple Glazed units are produced using low emissivity glass. These are some of the highest specified glazing units on the market and offer increased levels of heat insulation and sound deadening. Unlike the standard double-glazed windows in other newly built houses these windows are also considerably larger with a massive height of 1.8 mtrs and average width of 2.1 mtrs. These much larger windows allow a substantial increase in natural light to enter the home, thus contributing to overall wellbeing and a reduction of internal lighting but without heat loss.
Heating and hot water: Heating of the home is provided using a highly efficient air source unit. This efficient unit extracts latent heat from the exterior air (even in negative temperatures), compresses it (thus increasing heat) and transfers this heat to the water used in heating in the home. The home shall be heated by efficient zoned underfloor heating. By incorporating zoning, the bedrooms can be kept at a lower temperature than the living areas thus allowing for a more comfortable night’s sleep. A constant internal temperature, created by underfloor heating, can be set in the home 24 hours per day 52 weeks of the year to maximise the efficiency of the air source unit. The heat produced by the efficient air source unit will also heat the water stored in a high spec Alu water cylinder. These highly insulated and highly efficient water storage tanks mean hot water 24/7. The air source unit can also be operated remotely (phone) meaning you can control the temperature of your home whilst away. Using this efficient air source unit eliminates the need for expensive oil or gas to heat your home, therefore providing a substantial saving in heating costs and reducing carbon footprint.
PV Panels (Optional) – Daylight is free (at least for now). Whilst the air source heating system requires electricity to operate, the cost of this electricity is more than offset with the use of efficient PV panels. These optional PV panels extract energy created by daylight (and sun) and transfers this to the electricity used to power the home. The substantial cost benefits of using PV panels are widely documented.
These next generation high specification PV panels used on these attractive bungalows shall also be neatly recessed into the roof tiles instead of the more unsightly roof mounted PV panels seen today. There will also be a provision made for the later installation of an invertor and battery should you require it. (If you find that you are producing more energy than you are using, this can be stored in the battery and sold back to the grid). PV panels are the most efficient way of producing your energy requirements thus reducing your electricity costs substantially.
Air-tightness: During the construction phase of these new high spec homes an air-tightness system will be incorporated using exacting standards. This system completely seals the home airtight and by keeping all the expensive heat inside the home, it increases the efficiency of the heat recovery system (below). As a byproduct to all the savings achieved in heating this home, there will also be a constant supply of fresh, filtered, healthy, clean air which will reduce allergies, pollen, smells and draughts and eliminate wet room extraction fans and the need for trickle vents.
Heat Recovery System and Ventilation System: To further enhance the cost efficiency of these modern high specification homes, a Heat Recovery and Ventilation shall be installed. A Heat Recovery ventilation system vents all the expensive warm air created from daily use within the home (produced from underfloor heating, showers, cookers, lights, appliances, etc) and extracts up to 90% of that valuable heat from the venting air. Fresh, clean air is then brought back through separate ducting and the recovered valuable heat is then reintroduced back to this fresh air and vented back into the home.This system will result in a saving of up to 30% on your already reduced heating costs.
Optional First floor bedrooms and bathroom: Due to the modern design of these high spec homes, there is an option to add a further 2 large first floor bedrooms and a large bathroom.
Communication – These new modern homes shall all have high speed broadband installed. They shall also have hard wiring to all rooms for TV points. This hard wiring shall be terminated in a central area where the broadband and tv hardware is located. There shall also be wireless broadband enhancers throughout the home. By hard wiring all the rooms for tv usage means the wireless broadband can be freed up for mobile devices without any reduction in download speeds. These new homes shall also be alarm ready with pre-installed separate alarm cabling throughout the home.
Lighting and Power sockets: All lights used throughout these exclusive bungalows shall be energy efficient LED. These high output, low energy units have a very long life span. Security – In today’s world unfortunately, security is a necessary requirement.
