The side extension built in the 1970s is formed of timber with an asphalt flat roof.

The house is off-grid, so there is no electrical supply or water connection. Cooking can be done using the large open fire which is how everything was done historically or there is a gas cooker for convenience.

A small rainwater collection tank supply. The sink water can be collected from the lake, but it is not potable.

The site area is circa one acre, which is mostly cleared and protected by chestnut, sycamore & native sally trees.

There is a small public harbor just minutes from the shore, and a short walk to the house.
