NIHE Property Acquisition Programme

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) is continuing to take a proactive approach to property acquisition in support of housing delivery and sustainable communities across Northern Ireland.

As part of this approach, NIHE is actively seeking opportunities to acquire suitable residential properties. Where properties are being brought forward for sale and NIHE has an existing option to purchase, these cases will now be actively reviewed to determine whether the option should be exercised. This will ensure that all suitable opportunities are fully considered as part of NIHE’s wider acquisition programme.

They are encouraging property professionals, solicitors, agents and vendors to engage with NIHE at the earliest possible stage where an option exists. Early engagement will assist NIHE in carrying out timely assessments and progressing decisions as efficiently as possible.

This enhanced approach reflects NIHE’s ongoing commitment to increasing housing supply and strengthening partnerships with the property and legal sectors to deliver positive housing outcomes.
