From Ballybofey proceed in the direction of Cloghan for approximately 4 miles veering right where the road forks at the church. Ballybofey (Bealach F?ich meaning "Fiach`s pass) is located on the south bank of the River Finn and along with the smaller town of Stranorlar on the north side of the River Finn, makes up the Twin Towns. Ballybofey provides good shopping and sporting facilities being home to Finn Park where League of Ireland side Finn Harps play their home games and Se?n MacCumhail Park where the Donegal senior football team play most of their home games.
The county`s principal town Letterkenny is 30 minutes` drive. Letterkenny takes its name from the Irish Leitir Ceanainn meaning ?Hillside of the O`Cannons` ? the O`Cannons being the last of the ancient chieftains of Tir Conaill.
