RICS survey shows January growth

Northern Ireland’s housing market is showing growth in January, according to the latest survey released by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

RICS housing spokesperson Tom McClelland said of the news “The RICS survey suggests there is some positivity and a lot more interest and inquiry from buyers”.

Cautious return to 90% mortgage lending.

With the majority of mortgages currently on the market requiring a 25% deposit, this incentive offers some hope to first time buyers.

Mortgage lending up 24% for March.

house3dGross mortgage lending was an estimated £11.5 billion in March, a 24% rise from £9.3 billion in February and a 3% rise from £11.2 billion in March 2009, according to data published today by the Council of Mortgage Lenders. The figures are in line with the typical seasonal pattern of a rise in lending volumes in March.
